Toronto, the Clean and Beautiful City-5
imageWhen I spot one, I study the driver with the intensity of an avid bird watcher determining the migration coordinates of an obvious species.

Inevitably, the driver looks bored – not realizing the important aspect of his job – he misses so many items – he glances about, himself a smoker – contributing to the stash that gets suctioned away.

The Tim Horton’s cup – rolls away – dodging the hose – laughing as if to say there is another day for me here on the streets. Learned moves from the hockey master, no doubt. It is rebellious - with its Lily Type 6 brown plastic lid – non-recyclable in our city. It is waiting to join the mountains of other plastic Tim’s lids in our landfills – the cup – scared of its future life buried beneath the earth’s dust – catches a wind and races past the hockey hall of fame. Is it still searching for its home? Am I?

The Mad Vac gives up and moves on to more cooperative trash.
