The World’s Largest Super Mario in Dundas Square
Here is something that doesn't happen every day. Nintendo Canada and Canstruction (R) are building a replica Super Mario from ... canned goods. The food will be donated to Toronto's Daily Bread Food Bank.

TORONTO, June 28 /CNW/ - On June 29 Nintendo of Canada and Canstruction (R) invite you to experience the world's largest Super Mario structure made entirely of canned goods. Come see this charitable event and unique tribute to Super Mario in recognition of Nintendo DS game New Super Mario Bros. becoming the fastest-selling video game in Canada.

Consisting of more than 4,000 cans, weighing 2,600 lbs and reaching close to 10-feet high, the Super Mario structure will contain cans specifically selected for their colour to best replicate the Nintendo video game icon, as designed by Canstruction(R) architects. All food used in the structure will be donated to the Daily Bread Food Bank.

Canstruction(R) is an international design/build charity competition to aid in the fight against hunger. Canstruction(R) Toronto will be hosting its 8th annual competition on November 15, 2006. For more information please visit http://www.canstructiontoronto.com. For information on other Canadian and U.S. competitions go to http://www.canstruction.org.
