SIng Your Lungs Out
The new home of the Canadian Opera Company gets its inaugural launch tonight with Canadian tenor Ben Heppner performing.

Tonight's performance includes Mozart, Délibes, Wagner, Rossini, Verdi and Tchaikovsky.

I'll be there to take in the experience and get another chance -- my third now -- to review the architecture. The first visit was with a band of Toronto's best and brightest bloggers assembled by Eli SInger. The Four Seasons Centre was almost empty of people but still littered with construction equipment. The second visit was at Sunday's ribbon cutting. That was better -- people filled the place and animated the public areas. But tonight's gala will be the true test of the building.

Some critics have panned the place without hearing a note. Others say it is one of the world's top three opera houses. Quite a range of opinions to choose from.

I'll have an extended review here and in print in the National Post this Friday. Stay tuned.
