According to the
Toronto Star newspaper Toronto condo innovator and the force behind the One King West condo/hotel, Harry Stinson, "has filed under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act at the Superior Court of Justice for two of his companies that are involved in that project..." Apparently Stinson's partner in the condo development and hotel, David Mirvish, holds a note on the property worth some $11 million that is now past due. Stinson claims that amount should be considerably less saying that the condo has numerous defficiencies that are Mirvish's responsibility.
One King West is a structurally innovative tower in the heart of Toronto's business district. Built on a narrow lot, the building quickly became a feature of the city's skyline. Owners of some condo units complain that wind is leaking through the building's windows.
