imageWe've been reticent to comment on the current election campaign because political punditry is not our core skill. After all, we want to focus on the issues that directly affect Toronto's design and cultural communities. So, when the Liberal government recently promised new deals to Toronto - deals that would allow us to better compete with other great international cities - we were enthusiastic.

But the Conservative's recent surge in Canadian opinion polls has us wondering what will happen to those city-building deals if the Liberals lose power. Will Toronto have to start over again under a different political regime? As carefully as we follow the current campaign we don't know where Conservatives stand on this issue. What about the NDP? Their decision to bring down the government brought on this election. What is their position? Will they maintain the balance of power in a new government and, if so, will they risk yet another election if the Conservatives decide Toronto is too powerful as is and reduce the promised funding? Do any of our readers know? Comments anyone?
