Comparisons between Lake Ontario Park and other major urban parks
With the city's central waterfront design competition dominating city news over the last few years don't be surprised if you haven't heard about the proposed eastern Toronto waterfront park. Called Lake Ontario Park, the plan will give Toronto a major park system large enough to rival Vancouver's Stanley Park.
Boasting 37 kilometers of coastline enclosing 935 acres of city property, the park is such a vast undertaking we probably won't live to see its completion. Lake Ontario Park will stretch from the tip of the Leslie Street spit east to the Harris Water Filtration plant.
I'll be writing more about Lake Ontario Park tomorrow but here are a few images from the
latest concept plan.
